There is a very thin line between need and greed; it’s almost an invisible one and many times unknowingly we cross it over. While It's subjective what is one's need and when it becomes greed. We all have needs and have every right to fulfill them, as much as anyone in this world; but when your needs start to have a negative impact on society and yourself, it transcends into greed!

Everyone would have seen or heard of umpteen examples when individuals let their greed take over their needs. Take the example of a wealthy individual, they might have 4 people for dinner but will prepare food that would be more than enough for 20 people; while on the other hand poor individuals can’t afford even a full meal for their family.

A greedy person might argue that he needs all the gold in the world. None in the world can be a judge but ourselves, and we should be conscious of what we NEED and not cave in to our GREED!

Remember the saying by Erich Fromm “Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.”
